PREA is committed to integration: charity cooking with refugee children at Restaurant 136

Charity cooking at Restaurant 136 in Berlin-Mitte: PREA, Nano’s Kidsclub Berlin and chef Matias Diaz Silva promote integration by cooking together.
Active social commitment: PREA supports Nano’s Kidsclub Berlin and chef Matias Diaz Silva at the “Cooking for Integration” charity event at Linienstraße 136 on January 25.
Berlin, January 21, 2026: On January 25, 2026, Restaurant 136 at Linienstraße 136 in Berlin-Mitte will be transformed into a special meeting place: Together with Nano’s Kidsclub Berlin and chef Matias Diaz Silva, PREA is inviting around 20 refugee children to a charity cooking event. The aim of the campaign: integration through shared experience, responsibility and enjoyment. Instead of anonymous donations, PREA is focusing on direct encounters and active social participation with this format.
Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., the children will be wielding cooking spoons together under the expert guidance of Matias Diaz Silva. They not only learn how regional and international dishes are created, but also what teamwork, trust and creativity mean in a kitchen. Cooking together is symbolic of vertical integration, which leads to a self-determined life in Germany through education, language and encounters.
“You can achieve a lot with money, but you can’t solve problems. That’s why we prefer to invest on a human scale – with deeds and encounters that enable real integration,” says PREA. “The collaboration with Nano’s Kidsclub Berlin shows that commitment on a personal level has a more lasting effect than any anonymous donation.”
Nano’s Kidsclub Berlin has been a trusted point of contact for children and families with a refugee or migrant background for many years. It offers leisure activities, language support and educational opportunities to give young people social stability and prospects. Through joint activities with partners such as PREA, bridges are built that go beyond mere support and enable long-term integration.
Matias Diaz Silva, head chef at Restaurant 136, is regularly involved in projects with a social impact. For him, charity cooking is a matter close to his heart: “I know from my own experience how important opportunities for integration are,” says the restaurant owner and head chef of Restaurant 136. “Many barriers disappear in the kitchen – in the end, everyone sits at the table together and shares something that they have created themselves.”
The event exemplifies PREA’s commitment to combining economic success with social responsibility. Whether urban development, energy concepts or social projects – PREA understands sustainability as the interplay of economy, ecology and social impact.
Editors, media representatives and interested partners are invited to attend the Charity Cooking on January 25 from 11:00 to 14:00 at Restaurant 136, Linienstraße 136 in Berlin-Mitte. Anyone interested can contact info@nano-nation.de for further information or to actively participate.
PREA and Nano’s Kidsclub will subsequently provide photographic material on request.
